Using a Peloton membership with two bikes
Share on:
Owning a Peloton bike does not come cheap. The bike itself is expensive but the monthly subscription sure is too! Therefore it makes sense to wonder to what length a Peloton subscription can be shared. How many profiles can be created on one account? Can you use your membership on two bikes? I explain everything in this article and all the limitations associated.
What’s included in a Peloton bike membership?
In order to use your Peloton bike or treadmill properly, you need to subscribe to the Peloton All-Access membership. It gives full access to the standard Peloton app, like live and on-demand classes, but also unlocks the smart capabilities of your bike like showing performance metrics on screen.
Peloton App only gives you access to classes, while the All-Access membership transforms your Peloton bike into a powerful training device. It will tell you how hard you are training and how you improve. The standard Peloton app cannot do this, it’s just a “streaming platform” to view videos. The All-Access membership also has exclusive video content.
Peloton All-Access membership also allows you to interact with others and join classes with your friends. People especially appreciate the leaderboard that is present in live sessions. It shows your metrics against the others which motivates you to push your limits to stay ahead.
The Peloton bike, treadmill, and rower, do not come with months of membership included. Thus you will need to pay an additional 44$ per month to enjoy your Peloton device to its full potential.
How many accounts can you have on a Peloton bike?
You can have up to 20 individual profiles on a Peloton bike logged to an All-Access membership. Your friends and family can enjoy your Peloton device on their own time, whenever they want without affecting your profile and stats. Thus it is possible to have multiple users of one bike.
Please note that this is not possible with the standard “Peloton app” membership at $12.99. This one can only have one profile. So it’s important to have the All-Access membership if you want multiple profiles and keep your fitness journeys separated.
Can you share a Peloton membership?
It is possible to share a Peloton membership in several ways:
- Create additional profiles for the bike you own. So that a member of your family can use your Peloton bike.
- Use your profile on another bike. Useful if you go to a hotel equipped with Peloton.
Can you share a peloton account on two bikes?
You can use only one Peloton bike per account at a time. If you need to use two bikes at the same time, you will need to buy 2 separate memberships.
The way Peloton All-Access membership works is one account logged on a bike at a time, but almost no limit in terms of users: 20 profiles for one account.
So you just can’t use one account to ride on two bikes at the same time, but you can use your account to ride on a bike at a hotel. Make sure no one uses your bike at home at the same moment!
Can you use multiple devices simultaneously with a Peloton membership?
Yes, you can stream content on multiple devices at the same time with an All-Access membership (the type of membership used with the Peloton Bike). This is not possible with the Peloton App membership at $12.99.
This means you can ride your Peloton bike, while your friend uses his profile to do a HIIT training class on the TV. You can also use a Peloton bike at the same time as the treadmill, rower, or Peloton guide. The only limitation is using two Peloton bikes at the same time (or two treads, two rowers, two guides).
In short, you can mix the types of Peloton hardware, but not use the same type of hardware at the same time. That also means a Peloton All-Access membership includes the usage of bikes, treadmills, and rowers. So even if you only own a bike at home, you can use a treadmill or rower in a hotel with your account!

Thank you for the article. The sentence – “The only limitation is using two Peloton bikes at the same time.” is not clear. Can we use two Peloton bikes at the same time or can we not ? Still confused. Thanks.
Hi Ankit, it is not possible to use two Peloton bikes at the same time with the same account. You will have to purchase a second membership to do so.
Can I have two profiles signed in at same time to do a weight workout and both receive credit?
Hello Laura,
By looking at Peloton membership terms, I believe it is possible if you have an “all-access membership”. They forbid the use of two “peloton hardware” at the same time, but this limitation is not specified for the peloton app (and hence weight workouts). It is not directly stated, so I believe it is possible to do 2 weight workouts at the same time. But it’s my interpretation, it’s not clearly stated.
Here is the exact paragraph (https://www.onepeloton.com/membership-terms):
“An All-Access Membership provides you and members of your household at one residential address (up to 20 user profiles) with full access to Peloton’s available classes, content, and features on one respective Peloton Product from each Peloton Product category (e.g., one All-Access Membership may be attached to a Peloton Bike, a Peloton Tread and/or a Peloton Guide at the same household, but not a Peloton Bike and a Peloton Bike+ at the same household), plus access to the Peloton Apps, for as long as the All-Access Membership remains active.”
I hope it helps,
Regards,
Constance
With the all access membership, can someone with a profile on my account do a cycling video workout using a non peloton bike and an iPad, at the same time as I am using my peloton bike?
Hello Barbara, yes you should be able to do that. The only limitation is using the same hardware twice, which is not your case. Having two cycling videos at the same time should work.
Here are the conditions written on Peloton website on their membership terms:
“An “All-Access Membership” […] provides you and members of your household at one residential address (up to 20 user profiles) with full access to Peloton’s available classes, content, and features on one respective Peloton Product from each Peloton Product category (e.g., one All-Access Membership may be attached to a Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, and/or Guide at the same household, but not a Peloton Bike and Bike+ at the same household), plus access to all available classes, content, and features on the Peloton Guide and Peloton App for as long as the All-Access Membership remains active.”
Hi Constance! Super helpful article! Do you know if using one Peloton membership on two bikes would only allow one bike to be “logged in” at a time? I’ve read in other places that logging into a second bike “deactivates” the first, making the first person have to activate their bike again the next time they want to work out. Do you know if “logging in” and “activating” are the same? Or is activating more complicated than just logging back in?
Hi, you simply need to login on the second bike and you will automatically be logged out of the first. Then when using back the first bike, log in again and you will be logged out of the second bike.
